Bin Daf Editor

Bin Daf Editor is designed specifically for professionals who regularly work with DAF truck electronic control units. The program combines firmware analysis, verification, and editing functions in one convenient tool. Automatic change detection, clear parameter display, and a wide range of supported functions significantly speed up the preparation of HEX files and make working with PCI and DMCI units more convenient and efficient.

Description

A modern HEX editor for working with PCI and DMCI control units of DAF trucks

Bin Daf Editor is a specialized software developed for analyzing, checking and editing HEX files of PCI and DMCI electronic control units used in DAF trucks with PACCAR MX11 and PACCAR MX13 engines .

The program is designed for auto electricians, diagnostic specialists, and workshops servicing commercial vehicles. Thanks to its intuitive graphical interface, most operations are performed without manually searching for memory cards and addresses in the HEX file.

After opening the firmware, the program automatically detects the control unit configuration, analyzes the changes made, and displays the current status of the supported engine systems. This allows you to quickly understand which functions have already been disabled, which remain active, and identify previously made changes.

Quick DAF firmware analysis

One of the main features of Bin Daf Editor is the automatic analysis of the read HEX file.

In practice, many DAF trucks arrive at the service center after AdBlue removal, EGR disabling, or other software modifications. Without information about previous repairs, the technician must spend a significant amount of time studying the firmware.

Bin Daf Editor greatly simplifies this task. After loading a file, the program displays information about the current ECU configuration and indicates which functions have been previously modified. This allows for quicker decisions about further configuration or restoring parameters.

Main functions of the program

Working with the AdBlue system

The program supports editing of SCR system parameters for various modifications of PACCAR engines.

Supported:

  • MX11 AdBlue
  • MX11 AdBlue EU
  • MX13 AdBlue
  • MX13 AdBlue EU

All changes are made directly in the HEX file with the ability to save the results later.

Engine systems management

The graphical interface allows you to change the parameters of various engine components without manually editing binary data.

The following systems are supported:

  • EGR
  • Lambda
  • Humidity
  • PTUR
  • MX Brake
  • Pre-Injection
  • BPV
  • Pump
  • Vent

All parameters are displayed on an interactive engine diagram, allowing the specialist to immediately see the current status of each element.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Editor

The built-in error removal module allows you to work with diagnostic codes directly within the firmware.

Functionality includes:

  • DTC search by number;
  • viewing the list of errors;
  • disabling individual codes;
  • saving changes to the HEX file.

This approach significantly speeds up firmware preparation and makes work more convenient.

Setting up speed limiters

The program automatically detects speed limit parameters and allows you to change:

  • Cruise Control (CC);
  • VMAX;
  • CUST.

Changes are made through a simple interface without the need to search for the corresponding values manually.

Additional service options

Depending on the ECU software version, the following functions are available:

  • IMMO;
  • PROTECT;
  • TIMER;
  • DPF LIM;
  • LIMIT;
  • AT;
  • BBM;
  • EST52.

All settings are combined in one program window and are available after firmware analysis.

Convenient work with already modified firmware

One of the most requested features of Bin Daf Editor is the ability to review existing changes.

After loading the file, the program automatically detects which systems have been modified previously and displays their status in the graphical interface.

This is especially useful when working with vehicles that have already had various systems disabled. The specialist can quickly assess the current firmware status and make the necessary adjustments without time-consuming HEX file analysis.

Operating principle

Working with the program consists of several simple steps.

1. Reading the firmware

Using the programmer, the original HEX file is read from the PCI or DMCI block.

2. File analysis

The firmware is opened in Bin Daf Editor , after which it is automatically checked.

3. View configuration

The screen displays information about the current status of all supported systems.

4. Editing

If necessary, the required parameters are changed, selected DTC errors are cleared, speed limits and other settings are adjusted.

5. Preservation

After completion of the work, a ready-made HEX file is created for subsequent recording back into the control unit.

If necessary, you can use the restore original settings function.

Supported vehicles

The program is designed to work with DAF trucks equipped with control units:

  • PCI;
  • DMCI.

Supported engines:

  • PACCAR MX11;
  • PACCAR MX13.

Compatibility applies to most DAF vehicles manufactured before 2018.
